A ruthless sociopath approaches an outpost near a satellite dish and gains the trust of two genuinely empathetic gentlemen before mercilessly killing them in cold blood. No, this is not a made-up scenario. This is real life, or as real as an online multiplayer session of Rust can be. It's literally at the top of the list of evilest things we can imagine and it's utterly hilarious.
YouTuber SovietWomble recently uploaded a new video on YouTube titled "Random Rust Bullshittery (part 2)" to share a side-splitting compilation of ridiculous moments while playing an online survival game for PC called Rust. While we highly recommend you to watch the video in its entirety, you can also skip to 11:15 to watch the dirtiest moment in multiplayer history. In fact, this particular segment was so elaborate and diabolical that a Reddit post from four days ago called it "the most amazing/heartbreaking betrayal in any online gameplay." The post has since received more than 4,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments from viewers.
SovietWomble wanders across the Rust forest and notices some activity going on at a large radar dish. The YouTuber managed to kill a player apparently on patrol on the Satellite platform before the players at the base took notice and retreated to a little bunker a couple minutes from the dish. Rather than rush the building with guns blazing, SovietWomble cleverly disguised himself as a freshly spawned noob by removing all his clothes and weapons. SovietWomble then approached in his rather vulnerable disguise and asks the people inside if they would be kind enough to offer any spare clothes.
Obviously, both of the surviving players hiding inside the building were leery at first but after determining that they're only dealing with a helpless and needy beginner, they generously opened their doors and offered some gear so that SovietWomble could move along. However, just as the two players with the heart of gold offer their help, SovietWomble kills the two players with the very AK rifle that killed their friend on the satellite dish platform a couple minutes ago.
Despite the speechless treachery we just witnessed, we cannot deny the execution was flawless and beautiful. In fact, the remarkable moment was so heart-rending for the people of the satellite base, it was never more fitting to play the famously bittersweet song "Only Time" by Enya.
