The Sims 4 team hosted a livestream on Twitch to debut the features in the new toddlers update. This free update is packed full of new stuff. It will take a while to play out every interaction in the game, so here’s what The Sims highlighted from the patch. Objects - make sure to use the design tool to see all the different colorways
-Toddlers tablet with four interactions
-Three new toddler beds
-Toddler doll house
-Ceiling lights, including cloud light
-New door
-Blocks for skill building
-Balloon floor lamp
-Wallpaper -- light gradients and soft patterns
-Cubbies
-Wall decals -- balloons, rainbows that double as shelves
-Rubber duck and stuffed toys
-Curtains -- tied back and drapey
-Rug with colorful circles
-Huge teddy bear or bunny chair
-Toddler care objects: High chair, a few different potties, a toddler bookcase, a monster toy box
-New radio station: Kids and Lullaby
Gameplay
-New traits make toddlers feel distinct from each other. They are very strong and expressive: fussy, clingy, wild, silly, angelic, inquisitive, charming, independent
-Skills include: Movement, Imagination skill, Communication, Thinking, Imagination, and Potty.
-Toddlers learn faster learning skills with older Sims
-Carry toddlers, pick up and put them down
-Bath animations, splashing, sponge, make puddles
-Read before bed and watch toddler fall asleep
-Teach your toddler how to dance
-Toddler race course?
-Toddler can walk up stairs once they reach Level 2 movement skill
-When toddlers age up, you’ll be prompted to pick a child trait
-If you can level up all skills before they age up, you'll get a special trait
-Toddler interactions, such as hugging
-Toddlers cannot die
-Toddlers go to daycare when you go to work
-Butler will try to take care of toddler, but nanny is better
-New attention motive- you need to make sure they socialize with people they know
-Two kinds of tantrums: Angry/sad fits
-Toddler care menu for vital needs
-Toddlers can not sleep in normal beds
-Mark other Sims as caregivers -- for example, if you want your brother to take care of the toddler, go to the relationship panel to mark as ‘caregiver’
