The Sims 4 Toddlers Ball Pit Is Better As A Meme

The Sims 4 Toddlers Stuff is a solid DLC. The pack features some awesome hairstyles, cute clothes, and more toys. But there is one unforgivably terrible object included in the stuff pack: the ball pit. We get it. This is an extremely difficult object to make. Plenty of crafty Simmers have tried to recreate it and realized why The Sims team produced a finished product with such poor quality compared to the graphics of the rest of the game.

“We were aware that the object was flat for a reason and that’s to save up on the poly count, which would save on your performance,” The Sims Community reports.

Polygons are used in computer graphics to build 3D images. The more polygons, the more processing power it demands from your computer. A simmer who goes by WildlyMiniatureSandwich went so far as to try and recreate the object by filling the entire surface with balls, but when she was done, she had well reached the polygon limits. The original ball pit included in the game had only 1076 polygons. By the time she was done, it had 14901 polygons.

So now that we understand the predicament, we’re only left to wonder why The Sims bothered to include this object at all. Since we’ll never know, the best thing we can do now is give it a good laugh.
