Rebellion published the Sniper Elite 4 launch trailer on Friday, alongside new information about the game’s Season Pass, as part of one last marketing push before Sniper Elite 4 hits PC and consoles early next week. The new trailer doesn’t tell us much we didn’t already know. But fans might be surprised by how much post-launch content Rebellion has planned for Sniper Elite 4.
The game’s launch trailer isn’t much more than a highlight reel of Nazi killing; a two-minute reminder that distance shooting might be Sniper Elite ’s focus, but it’s hardly the only means by which Lt. Karl Fairburne can neutralize his enemies. The trailer does tease some of the game’s new features, like the expanded suite of X-ray cameras, but those who’ve been keeping an eye on Sniper Elite 4 since it was announced won’t find anything new in the trailer.
The same can’t be said for Rebellion’s update on the Sniper Elite 4 Season Pass. The $34.99 content bundle includes a variety of new additions to the game, including multiplayer characters, missions and firearms. The studio says the three unidentified missions will tell their own story, set after the main campaign, that completes Karl’s tour of Italy.
Here’s everything Rebellion says Sniper Elite 4 Season Pass owners can expect:
ALL PRE-ORDER BONUS CONTENT
Target: Führer campaign mission – Infiltrate a secret Mediterranean U-boat facility and use wits and creativity to take out the target in over 30 ways.
Camouflage Rifle Skin Pack – Blend into the lush environments of wartime Italy with highly detailed skins for all seven of the game’s starting rifles, for use in any mode.
THREE HUGE NEW CAMPAIGN MISSIONS
A completely new three-chapter campaign, separate from the main storyline, which features massive, diverse new environments that eventually lead Karl out of Italy for a thrilling finale..
THREE CONTENT-STUFFED EXPANSION PACKS
Each expansion pack will be released alongside a campaign mission, and they’ll each include 3 new weapons, 8 new weapon skins and 2 new characters.
WEAPON AND CHARACTER PACKS
Three further weapon packs – including silenced weapons, famous wartime Allied rifles, and equipment for taking on foes at close quarters...
Three new characters for use in both co-op and multiplayer.
That content will be divided up into a total of 12 post-launch releases. And it’s only going to offer three new missions for anyone who received “Target: Führer” for pre-ordering their copy of Sniper Elite 4. Rebellion also promised to make all new multiplayer maps and modes available to all player, free of charge, so as not to destroy matchmaking when new content rolls out.
Sniper Elite 4 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts Feb. 14.
