Update v3.0.0 for the online arena shooter Splatoon 3 is here. This update includes data for new weapons that will be added once Fresh Season 2023 starts on March 1.
Players can expect two new special weapons in Splatoon 3 on March 1. The first is Kraken Royale, which gives players the ability to transform into a huge squid. Although players will be vulnerable for a moment before and after transformation, they won’t take damage from attacks while transformed.
The second special weapon is called the Super Chump. When fired, this weapon will scatter a bunch of balloon-like decoys in an area. These decoys will display markings that look like Super Jump landing spots on the ground. They might look harmless at first glance but they will explode after a short time has elapsed, dealing damage and inking the turf around them. The decoys can also be destroyed manually with an attack.

- Roughly doubled the amount of damage dealt to nonplayer objects (Splash Walls, brellas, etc.) when striking them with ink.
- Increased the amount of time it takes for ink to begin recovering after being used by about 0.16 seconds.
- Damage dealt to Crab Tank armor increased by about 20%.
- Made it easier to activate the effect from the Special Power Up gear ability, even when the player only has a few items with that gear ability equipped.
- The effect gained from equipping the maximum number of Special Power Up gear abilities will not change.
- Damage dealt to Crab Tank armor increased by about 2.5x.
- Damage dealt to Crab Tank armor increased by about 3x.
