'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Trailer In Development At DICE, When Will We See It?

We already know that developer DICE is hard at work on a Star Wars Battlefront 2, and it seems a trailer is getting made to hype the project.

As seen in the tweet above, DICE trailer expert Randy Evans has posted that he’s on his way to work on motion capture for a “very big upcoming trailer.” While this technically could be a different project, the tweet is ended by mentioning how another DICE employee is “pondering the ways of the force.” That’s a pretty clear reference, if I’ve ever seen one.

This news may come as absolutely no surprise to many (you mean DICE is making a trailer for a game in development!? Who woulda thunk?), but it does reveal some interesting info about the state of development and when we can start to expect new information.

While game trailers are going to be made by different teams than the actual game, the trailer team still needs direction from the game developers about what to include. If DICE is already working on a trailer, the company must have a clear idea about what will be highlighted in the video. This shows development is well on its way, and making good progress.

As for when we will be seeing the trailer, that’s an interesting question. It’s pretty safe to say DICE won’t be able to turn this trailer around to release in time for Star Wars Celebration in mid-April, but it does leave plenty of time for an E3 reveal in June. Even if the trailer ends up being some 15-second long teaser, there will probably be something Star Wars related to see at this years EA Play.
