Have you ever watched a Star Wars movie or played Star Wars Battlefront and wondered why the Empire didn’t just show up with a whole fleet of AT-ATs to tear apart the Rebels? It turns out, those things are expensive!
Courtesy of BestCasino.co.uk, an infographic reveals the true price of building and operating an AT-AT. Using some interesting math based on resources found at starwars.wikia.com, defense-aerospace.com and more, the AT-AT is broken down into how much each part would cost.

Each AT-AT goes for a whopping $226.5 million. That’s a hefty price tag, even for the Empire. Additionally, it will cost an extra $192,000 per year in crew costs. These are specialized soldiers, and they do need to get paid for fighting.
There’s no word on the price of the new AT-ACT, or All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport. This version of the AT-AT will be seen for the first time in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While bigger than the AT-AT, the AT-ACT seems to be more cargo transport than war vehicle.
So what do you think? Are you surprised to see the price of an AT-AT being so expensive? What do you think the price of other Star Wars vehicles would be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
