In many ways, Fallout 4 is very similar to the Borderlands games. You have weapons with insane mods and really long names, you have enemies that keep getting special modifiers stacked on them to become more difficult to blast down, and both games feature you looting any and everything you can. You can now even make the two look similar, thanks to some tweaks you can apply to Fallout 4.

This information comes by way of a reddit thread originally created by user Reddit_is_wrong. While not really a mod, there are still things you need to tinker with to get this look in your game of Fallout 4. As Reddit_is_wrong explains in the comments of the thread, players will first need to download the SweetFX Shader Suite. This is a program that allows for players to sharpen textures in compatible games as well as change colors, gamma, exposure, and other visual tweaks that most games don't give you the option to mess with.

Once the SweetFX shader is set up, players will need to use this .ini file that Reddit_is_wrong made available to download. As for the cartoon settings, Reddit_is_wrong used the following:

>#define CartoonPower 10.0
>#define CartoonEdgeSlope 1.0

It may take you some work to get your game looking like the screenshots above, but the results certainly look cool. After getting everything up and running, Fallout 4 is made to feature thick black lines around objects, a staple to the "cartoon" look. The shading has also eliminated some shadows, making things appear slightly more flat than normal.

So what do you think? Are you interested in trying to get this Borderlands-style look in your game of Fallout 4? What other cool mods and tweaks have you used so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
