X-Men: Apocalypse and Game of Thrones have a lot more in common besides shared cast member Sophie Turner.

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer recently told Yahoo! Movies there are similarities between the upcoming movie and the HBO series’ storylines. Don’t panic! There are no walk-of-shames, beheadings or twincest in X-Men: Apocalypse, but there’s definitely a common theme between the two storylines.

“There’s a crossover between ‘X-Men’ and ‘Game Of Thrones’, they’re both about a younger generation finding their powers, finding out who they are, and what their place in the world is. I like how the show’s about different groups of people moving towards a common goal,” Singer told Yahoo! Movies. “They don’t even know if that’s the right goal, who wants to sit on that uncomfortable throne? I don’t! Everyone in King’s Landing is miserable. But for some reason they want that power.”

The Game of Throne s comparison might be a bit harsh for X-Men: Apocalypse , but at least both franchise get to work with Turner. The Game of Thrones actress recently spoke to Digital Spy regarding what it was like to play Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men movie. Turner is excited to put her own spin on the character.

"My Jean is definitely struggling with her powers, and coming to terms with just how powerful she can be. It alienates her a bit, so she's going through that along with all the hormones and the boys and the stuff that every teenager goes through. Being a mutant ain't easy,” Turner told Digital Spy.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
