As the smartphone market becomes more and more competitive each year, sometimes what sets phones apart from one another isn't so much pure performance specs per se, but the way a smartphone is able to creatively satisfy the user by becoming more than just the sum of its parts.

That said, AnTuTu benchmarks are indisputable. The latest Exynos 8890 chipset, which is expected to be used in the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7, has reportedly earned a record score on the AnTuTu test: 103,692.

It's a truly staggering score, especially considering that the top-of-the-line Kirin 950 SoC by Huawei scored only 79,000. In fact, we've heard interesting reports about the Exynos 8890 since September, when the chip allegedly scored a Geekbench all-time high of 6908 on the multi-core test and a 2294 on the single-core test.

Despite the hype surrounding the latest AnTuTu report, MobiPicker warns that the recording-breaking AnTuTu score for the Exynos 8890 should be taken with a grain of salt as the results were allegedly retrieved from unverified sources.

Other Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors also indicate that there may be two distinct version of the Galaxy S7, featuring a standard 5.2-inch version and a larger 5.7-inch phablet. The Galaxy S7 is also expected to feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS as standard. Finally, reports suggest the Samsung Galaxy S7 will introduce its own version of Apple's 3D Touch, dubbed ClearForce.
