A new Subnautica update is now available on Steam, just in time for the weekend, adding more than half a dozen new buildable blueprints to Unknown Worlds’ underwater survival game. New farming mechanics have also been introduced in this week’s aptly-named Farming Update.

It’s only been six weeks since Unknown Worlds rolled out the H2O Update; a complete overhaul of Subnautica’s graphics that included “new surface water, longer draw distances, richer colors, pitch black night-time… [and] solar eclipses.” But the studio is already rolling out another sizable update for the underwater survival game that first debuted back in December 2014, and there are some big changes to explore.

The Farming Update includes seven new blueprints for Subnautica. The list includes all-new grow boxes, used to cultivate/harvest a variety of alien fauna, and a large aquarium that can be built inside players’ bases. The latter can be filled with all sorts of plant and animal, and is designed to be the focal point of any room in which it’s placed. The Farming Update also includes “living walls”, which seem to be decorative in nature, and three new light sources, floodlights, LED light sticks and spotlights. Explorers can also look forward to finding abandoned bases scattered across the underwater world on which Subnautica is set.

For a quick tour of everything added in Subnautica’s Farming Update, check out the game’s latest trailer, released alongside the patch on Friday. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you’d like to see added to Subnautica in an upcoming patch.

Subnautica is being developed for PC and Mac. There’s currently no timeline for the project’s departure from Steam Early Access.
