Supergirl is gearing up for its sophomore season on The CW and the show has added two characters from the DC canon to the cast: Snapper Carr and Maggie Sawyer.
Cougar Town ’s Ian Gomez will bring Snapper Carr to life. As the new editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine, Carr is a “sharp-witted” and “headstrong” newsman according to Entertainment Weekly. It’ll be his job to push CatCo reporters to give 110%. Previous reports reveal Lucas ‘Snapper’ Carr plans to “remake the news division by going old school.”
“He’s a man who tells people what he thinks of them, and his no-holds barred approach pushes Kara in unexpected ways,” EW reports.
With the growing fear of alien threats, curious National City Police Detective Maggie Sawyer may become a much-needed ally to Supergirl. Floriana Lima (The Family) will play Sawyer, an openly gay character who dated Batwoman in the comics. Previous reports describe her as an “out and proud detective for the newly formed Science Police.”
In addition to Carr and Sawyer, original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter will be the President of the United States, while Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin will finally put a face to Superman’s ominous shadows from Season 1.
There’s also been rumors Lex Luthor’s sister, Lena, is joining the cast, and of mystery characters named Nick Farrow and ‘The Doctor,’ but their identities have not yet been confirmed (read more).
