Team Team revealed that the organization has found a sponsor, and beginning May 1 has officially changed its name to Beastcoast. This marks a new beginning for the Dota 2 team as it also announced two new additions to its roster in time for the upcoming MDL Disneyland Paris Major.

Beastcoast is a relatively new esports organization founded in 2017. While this is the organization's first entry to the Dota 2 world, it has signed up top Super Smash Bros. players like Ramin "Mr.R" Delshad and Mike Haze. Beastcoast has also sponsored teams for Rainbow Six: Siege.

Along with the new name, the team is also signing Eric “Ryoya” Dong and Timothy “tmt” Ong. The two join Jacky “EternalEnvy” Mao, Braxton “Brax” Paulson, and Michael “ixmike88” Ghannam.

The team has been the talk of the town after ESL One Mumbai, when it was reported that Nico “Gunnar” Lopez and Jason “Newsham” Newsham had both been “kicked out” of Team Team. The team had a rather dismal performance in the tournament and while a roster shuffle was expected, it was a surprise when it happened right after the end of the ESL tournament.

Gunnar himself had initially tweeted that the two were indeed “kicked,” but has since then said that he no longer had any issues with EternalEnvy. Still, EternalEnvy was called out by a number of people, in particular Kyle “Kyle” Freedman. Kyle claimed that this has been EternalEnvy’s pattern, and it was time to stop supporting him and his actions.

Ryoya joining the team is no surprise, as he was part of the old Team Team in the past. He later moved to Flying Penguins were he became teammates with EternalEnvy.

The big surprise is tmt joining the team. As a Dota 2 player, tmt started his career with Entity Gaming. This was a team that resulted in the merging of two Indian teams. He later joined Echo International, a Southeast Asian team then led by Anatham “ana” Pham. As many in the Dota 2 community knows, ana is now with OG. Echo eventually disbanded, leaving tmt to become a free agent.

The reason why the choice to pick tmt was a surprise is because there were other players who had better experience like Kim “Febby” Yong-min and Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora. It is still too early to tell how tmt will perform.

With the MDL Disneyland Paris Major just around the corner, fans are excited to see how this new team can perform given the short time they have been together.
