Guilherme Rambo, the Brazilian Mac OS X developer who spotted the first mention of “macOS” in a to-be-implemented private framework, has just released an update to the Mac OS X app he annually creates for attending (and watching) WWDC virtually.
The new version, called WWDC for OS X 4.0 , can be downloaded here. Streaming events are automatically scheduled for you within the app, and the events are automatically updated with a “Live” tag when streaming has started. Even more excitingly though is the app’s search feature, which not only parses through session titles and descriptions, but also event transcripts downloaded from ASCIIWWDC.
The event transcripts are visible while watching the videos as well, meaning you can keep track of what was just said without having to deal with the mess of rewinding. Lastly, Rambo’s app supports direct links, so you can share specific sessions of WWDC, and modifying playback speeds.
To install WWDC for OS X 4.0, you’ll need a Mac OS X computer, Xcode 7.3 or later and CocoaPods (Stack Overflow). Rambo is also the developer behind BrowserFreedom, a OS X app that sits in-between your links and browsers like a customizable switchboard.
