Twitch users who stream Against the Storm content will be happy to know that new features have been added in the aptly named Twitch Integration update, now available on PC.
Awesome Features for Streamers and Viewers
Developers at Eremite Games want streamers and viewers to enjoy Against the Storm. Hence, they added new features to make the game more interactive when it’s streamed on Twitch.
There are now chat polls that let viewers decide what the streamer should do. Streamers can put up a poll so viewers can vote for what Cornerstone they should take during their current playthrough, for example.
However, the real meat of the Twitch Integration update is the chat mini-game. Viewers who opt-in will be able to choose two factions: Forest Guardians or Council of Elders. If they go as part of the Forest Guardians, they will hide in the nearby Dangerous or Forbidden glades. Their Twitch names are displayed over the glades for the streamer to see. They have three abilities at their disposal that will make the streamer’s lives difficult in the game, including:
- !poison: Passively remove food from the Warehouse.
- !anger: Increase Hostility of the Forest.
- !chant: Slow down events working time.
On the other hand, viewers who want to help the streamer can join the Council of Elders. A council member looks like a typical Against the Storm villager, but they have abilities that can aid the streamer, such as:
- !tale: Increase the global Resolve.
- !speech: Slow down the Villagers' leaving rate.
- !prayer: Extra production chance.
Toned Down Forest Mysteries
The developers also included balancing changes for Forest Mysteries in this patch. Forest Mysteries are modifiers that can influence a variety of things, including production, work speed, and resolve, among others.
That said, here are the newly rebalanced Forest Mysteries:
- "Charged" Rain: Increased the Hostility level from 4 to 5.
- Strange Lights: Changed the internal spawn conditions of this Mystery, so it’s accompanied by more beneficial positive Mysteries or by less threatening negative ones.
- Downpour: Increased the Hostility level from 4 to 5.
- Eerie Song: Changed the internal spawn conditions of this Mystery, so it’s accompanied by more beneficial positive Mysteries or by less threatening negative ones.
- Greater Threat: Increased the Hostility level from 2 to 4. Changed the internal spawn conditions of this Mystery, so it’s accompanied by more beneficial positive Mysteries or by less threatening negative ones.
- Cloudburst: Increased the Hostility level from 3 to 4. Changed the internal spawn conditions of this Mystery, so it’s accompanied by more beneficial positive Mysteries or by less threatening negative ones.
