Best 2000s Horror Games That Need a Remake ASAP
However, according to ComicBook Gaming, there are still plenty of titles that are yet to receive love and gain their much-deserved attention from modern gamers like what Konami and CAPCOM received in the past years.
'Silent Hill 3'
"Silent Hill 3" remains a strong contender for a modern remake.
The game is best known for closely following "Silent Hill 2," and despite this almost immediate follow-up from Konami, "Silent Hill 3" still received massive reviews. That being said, it still faced significant problems like the lack of technological advancements back then that made several parts of the game flawed.
A remake would help revive not only the franchise amidst the upcoming "Silent Hill f," but also lead to developers fixing its flaws not only in both gameplay and story, especially after "Silent Hill 2" remake's success.
'F.E.A.R.'
"First Encounter Assault Recon," or simply "F.E.A.R.," is one of the top revolutionary games of its era which gave players the thrill and excitement that come with action and horror. Its story is known for introducing an elite group of the US Army that responds to supernatural phenomena in the streets, and Monolith Productions gave the world one excellent franchise, which began in 2005.
The game is set in the fictional city of Fairpoint and brings players to its version of 2025. A remake of "F.E.A.R." this year would bring a full-circle moment not only to the franchise but also to gamers who envisioned a future of paranormal action, filled with some of the iconic jump scares of the horror video game genre.
'Left 4 Dead'
Valve Corporation's "Left 4 Dead" may have joined the horror video game industry in the late 2000s, but it was surely one of the most iconic in history and helped propel the genre to new heights. There are only few survival horror games that truly capture the "survival" plot, and "Left 4 Dead" is one of them.
Apart from its iconic first-person action and notable advancements during its time, it centered on a co-op shooter carnage that focused on having groups of four go side-by-side in fighting off the zombie apocalypse.
Not only that, "Left 4 Dead" is best known for introducing some of the most menacing bosses in zombie survival horror, even to this day.
