Secret Warriors assemble! In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 episode 17, “The Team,” Daisy will call in Yo-Yo and Joey Gutierrez to help her and Lincoln save the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.
The last episode, “Paradise Lost,” ended just as Hydra took full control of the Zephyr One (RIP The Bus) with Phil Coulson, Agent May, Mack, Fitz and Simmons aboard. Gideon Malick’s second hand, R. Giyera, escapes from the containment module aboard S.H.I.E.L.D.’s plane. He easily knocks out all of the agents and takes control of the ship using his telekinetic abilities. May is able to send a distress call to Daisy and Lincoln, who are safe on the Quinjet, as Giyera lands the Bus at Hydra headquarters.
Daisy is certain someone on the team will die after being touched Charles Hinton, an inhuman who transfers death flashforwards via touch. Since it could be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent whose life is at risk, the stakes are higher than ever for the Secret Warriors’ first official mission.
We already know what Daisy and Lincoln are capable of, but this will be the first time we see Joey and Yo-Yo put their powers on display as part of the team. Joey is a metalmorpher and Yo-Yo a ‘Slingshot’ speedster. Combined with Lincoln’s electromagnetic powers and Daisy’s earthbending skills, the team of four should be able to stir up quite a bit of trouble at Hydra’s headquarters.
TV Line caught up with Daisy’s actress Chloe Bennet, who said after “The Team” airs, S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be the same. “Here on out, this episode is the biggest game changer for the rest of the entire series of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” she said.
