'Avowed' Guide: How to Get the Sigil of the Arcane

Here's where to find this OP ring and solve the switch puzzle.

In "Avowed," Obsidian's long-awaited RPG in the world of Eora, strong equipment can be the difference-maker. One of the most precious magical objects in the game is the Sigil of the Arcane, a seemingly simple-looking copper ring that you can get once you've reached Shatterscarp, the third area in the game.

Don't judge it by its looks, as this object is a must-have for any spellcasting build.

The Sigil of the Arcane provides its wearer with the passive bonus "Thaumaturge's Expertise," making it one of the best rings for players specializing in spell combat. Wearing this ring allows you to receive:

+20% Ability-Cast Speed
-20% Ability-Essence Cost

Where to Find the Sigil of the Arcane in 'Avowed?'

You will find the Sigil in Shark's Teeth within Shatterscarp. According to GameRant, the ring is located in a hidden room adjacent to a bridge somewhere near where you fight Captain Tago. You must kill Tago and his minions before you can have your reward.

After clearing the area, find the hidden door. It's resourcefully sealed behind a puzzle that involves activating three electrical switches.

Solving the Switch Puzzle to Open the Hidden Room

To unlock the hidden room, do the following:

Preparation Tip: Take a shock-based weapon, a grenade, or a spell to tap the switches. You may also use Giatta's Spectral Jolt ability, another good reason to have this strong companion in your party.

Switch 1 Location

From the secret door, head left. Just a few steps away, across the river, you'll find the first switch embedded in the wall.

Switch 2 Location

Face the hidden door and go right. Follow the path that curves left and leads upward. Climb the first wooden platform and you'll spot the second switch near the wooden beams.

Switch 3 Location

Directly next to the second switch, ascend the subsequent wooden platforms. At the top, turn right to locate the third switch.

After activating all three switches, head back to the secret room. The door will now be open. Inside, you'll see a lockbox on a table — open it to receive the Sigil of the Arcane.
