The upcoming roguelike action game Airheart has already been Greenlit on Steam, something that comes less than a week since the game was announced.
For those that don’t know, Airheart is a game where players take on the role of Amelia, the girl from developer Blindflug Studios’ previous game, Cloud Chasers. This time, Amelia has grown up a bit, and has become the pilot of an airplane/fishing boat. Each game is short, but experience and money carry over to allow players to go longer and further with each life as more powerful upgrades are purchased.
On top of that, Airheart features a world of floating cities and flying fish. While gameplay mostly revolves around shooting down enemy airplanes, the fish can be harvested for additional points. The most interesting thing about these fish is they share a pool with every Airheart player. If players harvest fish too aggressively, they could start running out.
“Airheart’s colorful world is such a refreshing and inspiring evolution of roguelike action games,” said Moritz Zumbühl, Blindflug Studios’ CEO, in a press release. “We’re weaving exciting aerial gameplay into an experience that educates players about important social themes like inequality and overfishing.”
Airheart is still a work in progress, and more development time is needed before an official release can be made. For more updates on the game, be sure to follow Airheart’s Steam Greenlight page right here.
