American Truck Simulator's newest expansion takes players to the Beehive State. The new Utah map expansion is all set to be released this Thursday, November 7.
It was back in June of this year when American Truck Simulator first teased this new DLC by releasing a video showing nothing but bees. A month later, it was confirmed that Utah would be the latest addition to the game.
With the Utah map, players can now visit areas like Salt Lake City, the historic St. George cities, or even the tourist-favorite Moab, and get to see just how rich both the local lifestyle and architecture really is. There are also crude oil digging sites located in remote areas where players can enjoy the challenges of hauling crude oil.
The new Utah map offers a new approach when it comes to creating rocks and other natural formations. The game's tool and asset library has been improved in this regard and now offers what is clearly the best representation of real references to date. The new DLC not only offers a new map, but also expands many of the existing industries through new company cargoes or docks. Players can look forward to visiting agricultural stores, a new feed mill, heavy machinery service, improved car dealers, and even a set of new warehouses.
Main features of the Utah expansion include:
- 3,500 miles of road network
- 10 major cities (Salt Lake City, St. George, Moab)
- New quarries and mines including the largest open excavation Kennecott Copper Mine
- Expanded oil industry (oil mining sites, oil storage sites)
- Improved agriculture production chain (country stores, feedmills)
- Famous landmark sites: Great Salt Lake, Monument Valley, Virgin River Canyon
- Over 260 recognizable natural and man-made landmarks
- 12 well-known truck stops
- New and improved process for landscape creation
- Utah achievements to unlock
Utah is the seventh state to be added to the game. During launch, the game introduced California and added Nevada as a free addition. Arizona then became the first state to be added post-launch. Arizona was followed by New Mexico, Oregon, and then Washington.
In order to play the new Utah expansion, players need to have the base American Truck Simulator installed.
