Annapurna Interactive revealed that it is releasing three games as PlayStation 5 console exclusives. This was announced through a reveal trailer for Stray as well as a new trailer for Solar Ash. Annapurna also shared new footage of its upcoming game The Pathless.

In a statement released to the press, Annapurna President Nathan Gary shared that they are excited to be able to bring these three games to the PlayStation 5. He went on to say that that the studio “has always been about boundary-pushing experience from the best creators, and this exciting lineup of games is just the beginning for us on PlayStation.”
Annapurna was founded in 2016 and since then has worked with different independent game creators. This has allowed the company to help these same creators create as well as release personal experiences for everyone. Their list of games includes, among many others, Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition, Donut County, and Sayonara Wild Hearts.
So what do these new games have to offer? Let’s start with Stray, which is being created by Blue Twelve. The game offers a third-person adventure where players take the role of, wait for it, a stray cat. That’s right, you get to play as a feline. The game is set in the neon-lit alleys of what looks to be a decaying cybercity along with the city’s seedy underbelly. As a cat, players can explore surroundings from a high and low position. Players also need to defend against threats in their quest to solve the mysteries the city has in place. The game is set to be released in 2021.
Then there is The Pathless, made by Giant Squid. Players take the role of a master archer who travels to a mystical island in the hopes of ending a curse of darkness that has gripped the world. The Hunter has an eagle companion and needs to form a connection with it in order to go after corrupted spirits. There are misty forests that offer secrets and are ready to be explored. Ancient ruins are present as well, with puzzles that need solving. Players are also going to be tested in what are truly epic battles.
Launching in 2021 as well is Solar Ash. Created by Heart Machine, it brings its incredible style to a fully 3D world. In this game, players need to explore what is known as the Ultravoid. This is an unstoppable rift of despair going across space.
So which one are you most excited to try out?
