A new update is coming soon to Apex Legends, and it is set to introduce changes. There are the usual balance changes and bug fixes, but the highlight would have to be adding both Duos and Trios mode.
Duos, in particular, have been introduced to the game as a limited-time mode. Since then, it has had a positive impact on the game, especially on teamplay, queue times, and gameplay systems. With the 4.2 update, this one is becoming a permanent mode along with Trios.
For those wondering why Solos isn't included, it seems that it had a negative impact on the game. It was found out that some Legend abilities were useless in Solo mode.
The 4.2 update is also introducing map rotation that includes the current version of World’s Edge, Kings Canyon Season 2, and Kings Canyon After Dark. Ranked Play remains on the map dedicated to where the game is in the current Series, which is Kings Canyon.
Town Takeover
The upcoming update also means a new Town Takeover, which in this case is Bloodhound's Trials. This one has players fight against a horde of prowlers and claim high-tier loot as the reward. However, watch out for fellow Legends also scavenging those goods for themselves.
New Event
The new Town Takeover is going to be part of the Old Ways Lore Event from April 7 to April 21. One of the things that players can expect is the Exclusive Event Prize Track. There will also be the new event Limited Cosmetics and the Return of Legendary Hunt Skins to the Direct Purchase Shop.

The Revenant
Going back to the 4.2 update, one of the Legends getting a revamp is Revenant. That's because he was found no longer viable enough. With the changes, it's hoped that his effectiveness will be on the same level as other Legends. Balancing changes include:
- Silence
- Increased duration of status effect from 10 to 20 seconds.
- Silence now disables Gibraltar’s Gun Shield.
- Increased the duration of the area of effect from 5 to 10 seconds.
- Silence has 2 charges now.
- Death Totem
- Characters are now respawned with 50 health (or whatever health they had when they activated it, if lower) instead of 1.
