Arrow ’s Stephen Amell, and The Flash’s Robbie Amell are teaming up to make a sci-fi movie titled Code 8 . No release date has been set. Stephen plays the Green Arrow on The CW’s show of the same name, which is currently in its fourth season. Robbie played Ronnie Raymond (Firestorm), who has since died on The Flash. Robbie also plays an FBI agent in two of the six X-Files revival series episodes, the last of which aired on Feb. 22.

According to a Facebook Video from November that featured Robbie and Stephen Amell’s announcement of Code 8, Stephen will not play a character in the movie and is only helping his cousin produce the film. While the Amell's just released a 40-second clip, the older Facebook video specified that a 12-minute teaser is slated to arrive in early 2016. The countdown on Code8.com is presumably for the release of the longer movie clip. Look forward to more information, and hopefully that extended trailer on March 22.

The teaser opens with a shot of Lincoln City. Text floats across the screen explaining that in the world of Code 8 , only four percent of people possess ‘abnormal abilities.’ However, the people with these abilities make up 60 percent of all arrests. The clip shows a man who lifts roof panels into the air without touching them. Then, a police officer (Sung Kang) calls in an incident over his radio. All of the sudden an aircraft appears and drops two robots with huge guns onto the ground.

Jeff Chan will direct and Chris Pare will pen the film. The Code 8 Facebook page describes the film as action/science fiction, but no more details are given. The teasers suggests Aaron Abrahms will star alongside Robbie Amell, who both have supernatural powers. Chad Donella and Alfred Rubin Thompson are also listed as part of the cast. Geoff Mclean and Tommy Dingwall will also assist with the production.
“Stephen and I have been trying to work together for a long time,” Robbie said during Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Chicago. “We got a little taste of it on the Flash , Arrow crossover, and we’ve been putting this together since August with a bunch of friends and family, and calling in favors,” he said wearing a Code 8 sweatshirt.
So far, Arrow and The Flash fans seem to be super excited for the DC Comics actors to branch out into the film world. Are you looking forward to the full trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
