Are Oliver and Felicity done for good? The CW

Arrow is on a short break until March 23, but The CW has released a synopsis for Season 4 Episode 16, ”Broken Hearts.” Spoilers ahead. The episode summary hints Oliver and Felicity will not get back together anytime soon. Remember the wedding photo writer Marc Guggenheim teased on Twitter last month? It appears Felicity and Oliver may have a fake wedding to lure in Arrow’s stalker, Cupid, who has returned to Star City.

“Broken Hearts” Synopsis:

A heartbroken Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick) returns to Star City with one goal – to destroy anyone in love. The team learns she’s killing couples on their wedding day so Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) decide to pose as bait.

At the end of the last episode, “Taken,” Oliver manages to save his son William, but ends up losing Felicity. In the final scene, Felicity takes off her ring, clearly still upset Oliver did not tell her about his son even though ex-girlfriend, Samantha Clayton, told Felicity she forced him to keep quiet. It’s unclear if Felicity and Oliver will get back together at all. During a flash forward at the end of the midseason premiere episode, Felicity’s wedding ring is missing from her finger while she waits for Oliver in the back of the limo at a funeral. At least we know Felicity is not dead, and is no longer paralyzed thanks to Curtis’ cure, but at this point it’s anyone’s guess as to who is dead in the ‘mystery grave’ pictured in the now infamous midseason sizzle.

Producer Wendy Mericle confirmed to fans there is a ‘visual clue’ that teases Oliver and Felicity's fate. “I definitely think there is some tension and we’re actually very intrigued to see if fans pick up on a very big clue about where they are at that point in their relationship. It’s in the scene, and it’s a visual clue,” she told TV Line in January.

Cupid, aka Carrie Hartnell Cutter, become obsessed with Arrow after he saved her from Slade Wilson in Starling City. She is an ex-police officer, but learned archery to gain Oliver’s attention. After team Arrow defeated Cupid, she was saved by Amanda ‘The Wall’ Waller of The Suicide Squad. Find out how Cupid wreaks havoc on Star City Wednesday, March 23 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
