Colton Haynes got a lot of love from the Arrow cast at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest. First, series star Stephen Amell admitted he has a crush on Haynes because...have you seen his jawline? Then during David Ramsey and Katrina Law’s panel, a fan asked not only about if Haynes would return as Roy Harper this season but if he’s the identity of Vigilante.
“You’re looking at me because you know I give spoilers, aren’t you?” Ramsey said. “I do know Roy is coming back. Colton’s great. I really miss him a lot. Every time he comes to the show he brings this energy and Roy Harper is just terrific. That's an interesting idea, they haven't...yeah, they have told us. I do know. But I don’t know in what capacity Roy is coming back. I don’t know if he’s coming back as Red Arrow. I don’t know what the storyline is.”
One possibility is Roy’s storyline intertwines with how each character escapes Lian Yu. He’s the only character who was nowhere near the island when Prometheus' plan succeeded, therefore he’s pretty much the only person equipped to come the rescue. He wouldn’t necessarily have to appear right away because the writers are spreading flashback sequences about how everyone survived throughout the season. The reason for Roy Harper's return could also be because of Thea, the love of his life. What if something happened to Thea on Lian Yu?
Vigilante was introduced in Arrow Season 5. In the comics, Adrian Chase was known as Vigilante but he turned out to be a different villain who went by Prometheus until he died in last seasons’ finale. After the Adrian Chase storyline picked up, Vigilante disappeared. Since, the Arrow writers have said Vigilante’s identity is someone fans’ know and there’s not many theories on who the villain could be.
How do you feel about David Ramsey's reaction to the Vigilante question? On the tenth episode of our Cape Talk podcast, we speculated about whether Vigilante could be Captain Lance. Watch the video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
