The highly anticipated Baldur's Gate 3 is now available on PC. Keep in mind that this is not a proper release yet. The game is in early access mode, which means that it’s only going to improve from here on out. Baldur's Gate 3 was originally supposed to launch on September 30, however, it was delayed as developer Larian Studios needed more time.
Larian Studios was also kind enough to tell us what kind of hardware we are going to need to play Baldur's Gate 3 without any issues. Thankfully, the minimum specifications are not very demanding. Larian Studios did not mention whether these requirements are for 30FPS or 60FPS. I guess we will find out when we play the game. All developers really need to start mentioning that.
Baldur's Gate 3 will only run on Windows 10 (64-bit), so time to upgrade if you haven’t already. You will also need 150GB of storage. The devs have mentioned before that the game will only take around 70-80GB of space, however 150GB is recommended. Don’t ask me why.
To run the game on minimum settings, you will need an Intel Core i5-4690 or AMD RX 4350 paired with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 280X. 8GB of RAM is also necessary.
Recommended requirements are a tad higher. An Intel Core i7-4700K or an AMD Ryzen 5 1500X paired with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 should be enough for you to run the game on high settings. RAM requirements have also increased to 16GB.
You can check out the complete system requirements below. They are also mentioned on the official Steam page.
