Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice TV spot reveals more tension between dueling superheros. It begins with Bruce Wayne reminiscing about his father telling him the history of Wayne Manor, suggesting that Wayne feels strongly about the family legacy and the future of the world.
The trailer eventually cuts to Superman telling Batman, “I'll take you in without breaking you.” It seems like Superman is trying to save Batman from his own destruction. Superman seems hesitant to fight, but Batman might be instigating the feud. Batman seems to be more violent than Superman in this scene.
Whatever the case, a much more experienced Batman is armed and ready to take down Superman. Ben Affleck, who plays Batman, recently spoke to WSVN-TV (via Batman News ) about the upcoming movie. Fans can expect to see a very different Batman in director Zack Snyder’s adaptation of the DC character.
“We’re starting out where other versions kind of left off. I’m probably the same age as Christian and in his last one he retired Batman,” Affleck told WSVN-TV. “We’re doing something different and obviously what those guys did was amazing and I have nothing but admiration for them and that’s part of the reason we felt we had to do something different so that we weren’t just trying to repeat that for audiences because they did it so well. So this is a little older, he’s a little more world weary. He’s been around the block once or twice so he’s a little wiser but he’s definitely more cynical and a little darker and more jaded.”
Seems like Batman’s a little bitter at the world. We wonder if the Joker played a role in Batman’s extreme cynicism. Hopefully we’ll get to see some of the Joker-Batman dynamic in Batman vs. Superman . If not, we can definitely look forward to seeing Batman and The Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters March 25.
