Scoot McNairy’s mysterious Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice role isn’t the character you thought it would be.
Latino Review reports McNairy won’t be playing Clark Kent’s friend and fellow Daily Planet coworker Jimmy Olsen . Apparently, McNairy’s wheelchair-bound character is a pawn in Lex Luthor’s campaign against Superman. McNairy’s character will reportedly testify against Superman during the Senate hearing we’ve seen in the Batman vs. Superman trailer.
Unfortunately, Latino Review’s report didn’t disclose the name of McNairy’s character. Previous reports claimed McNairy was set to play Robin, but the rumors were unsubstantiated.
What we do know is DC comic fans shouldn’t be concerned about the Batman vs. Superman trailers spoiling the movie’s plot. Director Zack Snyder recently told MTV News the teasers don’t give away the big twists in the film. Snyder also told MTV fans shouldn’t be concerned about Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. The Batman vs. Superman director said the trailer is a bit misleading when it comes to Luthor’s plot.
“In the trailer, of course he comes across in a very specific way,” Snyder said. “In the movie, he’s like a million times more sophisticated than what you get in 30 seconds. But that’s also the fun of it. That’s why you go to the movies, so you can actually see the context and understand the depth.”
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman hits theaters March 25.
