Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice actor Ben Affleck continues to capitalize on the “will he, or won’t he” speculation regarding a possible directorial role in his character’s future solo movie.
Affleck spoke to USA Today regarding his role in Warner Bros Studios’ DC film universe. The Batman vs. Superman movie actor all but confirmed he might be connected to the scheduled Batfleck solo film.
"I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this,” Affleck told USA Today. “And in working with (Batman vs. Superman director Zack Snyder) and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."
Affleck might wait until the Batman vs. Superman movie reviews come in to make a decision on directing the Batman solo movie. Affleck told Variety back in November 2015 he feels an immense pressure for the Batman vs. Superman movie to perform well at the box office this year.
“We are a very kind of instant gratification culture when it comes to analyzing the film business. And there is a lot of hyperbole involved,” Affleck told Variety. “Nonetheless, there’s a lot of pressure on it. If it doesn’t do well, that will be extremely disappointing.”
Affleck has proven his directorial skills in his movies The Town (2010) and Argo (2012). Affleck won the Oscar for Best Motion Picture of the Year for Argo back in 2013. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice premieres in theaters on March 25.
