DICE has deployed Update 3.1 for Battlefield 2042 recently, which is now available to download on all supported platforms. This patch features the Manifest map rework, as well as new Vault Weapons from Battlefield 3.
Map Rework
Manifest, a map in Battlefield 2042 set in a Singaporean dockyard, received some notable tweaks in Update 3.1. Players will find that everything has become more streamlined, with tight spaces that make confrontations more challenging than ever.
There are several notable points of interest in this map. On the northern portion of the Container Yard, the flag has been repositioned to be closer to the Quay.
Speaking of which, the Quay now has two new spaces that players can go to. These are situated on either side of the said area and act either as Capture Points in certain game modes or entry staging points to the boats anchored in the map.
The southern part of the Container Yard got some pathing improvements as well. On top of that, players will find that the Weather Station has been burned to the ground.
New Vault Weapons
Some iconic weapons from Battlefield 3 are added in this patch. The M416, a fan-favorite assault rifle, has now made its way to Battlefield 2042. This is an effective weapon capable of dispatching enemies at mid-range with ease and players can unlock this by killing 60 enemies with an assault rifle.
Another welcome addition to the arsenal, the M240B is a powerful and reliable machine gun, especially when mounted on its bipod. Its high bullet velocity is perfect for medium and long-range engagements. This can be acquired by killing 20 enemies in a round using LMGs.
And the last weapon of the bunch, the M93R is a burst-fire sidearm best known for its devastating power at close range. Killing eight hostiles in a round using secondary weapons unlocks this small but deadly pistol.
- Renewal
- Adjusted the Capture Zone for Sector A and B to encourage a smoother flow of gameplay as an Attacker.
- Kaleidoscope
- Removed C1 and G1 Capture Points on Conquest Large, and merged the subsequent capture area into nearby Capture Points. The win rate was balanced towards one side unfairly with Kaleidoscope, and these changes should hopefully improve and encourage a more natural flow of play throughout
- Stranded
- Tweaked ticket count for Conquest to encourage a slightly longer duration of match time
- Adjusted the combat area and out of bounds limits on Breakthrough, for the last sector
- Defender HQ has been moved closer to the flag on Breakthrough, for the last sector
- Adjusted the HQ area and out of bounds limits for the first sector on Rush
- The MCOM for the first sector has been relocated out of the hanger on Rush
- Made improvements to other MCOM positions to improve attacking flow for Rush
Battlefield 2042 Update 3.1 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
