Ben Affleck’s batsuit got a major upgrade for the upcoming Justice League movie . Director Zack Snyder showed off the suit in a new set photo he shared on his official Twitter account.
The “Tactical Batsuit” is an upgrade from the armored one Batman wore during the big Superman fight scene in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice . It’s less bulky, but still padded, with protective goggles and a sleek new cape. Affleck poses next to his Batmobile, which appears to be the same from the Batman vs. Superman movie.
Snyder captioned the image, “Homestretch. Last day filming Batman in the new Tactical Batsuit.
#JusticeLeague #Batman.”
Speaking of Batman, The Wall Street Journal recently confirmed Joe Manganiello will play the villain Deathstroke in Affleck’s upcoming solo film. It also appears Manganiello will make a small cameo in the movie, according to the footage released by Affleck himself on his Twitter account.
Deathstroke was originally a villain from the Teen Titans comics, but eventually crossed over to other DC universes. Batman eventually has a run-in with Deathstroke when he teams up with Talia al Ghul to take out Robin. Deathstroke is a mercenary and assassin who lives by his own moral code. He’s a deadly fighter, but isn’t a metahuman like The Flash or Aquaman .
It’ll be interesting to see Batman fight a villain other than Joker. The DC cinematic universe already introduced (albeit poorly) the infamous clown prince of darkness. Maybe the Deadshot cameo in the Justice League movie will tie in with the Batman solo film. Hopefully the Wonder Woman and Justice League films do better critically than Suicide Squad and Batman vs. Superman .
The Justice League movie is slated to hit theaters Nov. 16, 2017.
