The year has just started and this early, we already have a peek at what's being planned for Black Desert Online. There are a lot of quality-of-life updates being prepared.
One of these is to increase the maximum slots on the inventory. Now before you get too excited, the development team revealed that it's actually a difficult task to increase the maximum number of slots. There is however a workaround to this issue. According to the team, they're going to develop what's known as a "dressing room" feature where players can separate and store outfits. The reason for this is that it's been found that a large part of the inventory is taken up by outfits.
The team shared as well that they plan to improve its automatic sorting feature for the inventory. Players have been giving feedback that this automatic sorting feature has resulted in an inconvenience since it mixes up the order of weapons/armor and horse gear. The team hopes to introduce a feature where players can set different criteria for how items are sorted.
Another concern that players raised is being able to manually sort the items in Storage. However, the team said that to make this possible, it means a complete rework of the entire structure of the Storage. There's no doubt that this is a difficult task to implement. So, they want to improve the search function to ensure that Storage is more accessible.
Plans for Cooking/Alchemy
Another focus is on Cooking/Alchemy. Many players have requested to have the option to turn off sound effects during Cooking and Alchemy. The good news is that there is a plan to add this feature.
There is also the problem experienced on Cooking/Alchemy which is having to constantly scroll through the fixed lists. The team said that for now, they're reviewing this, and hopefully they could add a feature like being able to show a list of favorites.
Throwing Away Items
Another issue raised by players is that throwing away items one by one by dragging them to the trash can is a hassle. The team said that they plan to introduce an improvement where players can select all items they want to be thrown away at once.
