'Black Myth: Wukong' Boss Guide: How to Beat the Elder Jinchi

This boss guide for Black Myth: Wukong helps players learn how to reach and defeat the Elder Jinchi to get the Fireproof Mantle. Steam, Game Science

Black Myth: Wukong features more than 100 bosses throughout its various chapters that have their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

Each of these foes offers distinct challenges to players and some are considered secret and need to be unlocked first. While the difficulty of gaining access can be a hassle, it is recommended to face them for their rewards.

One of these is the Elder Jinchi boss which can be found in the latter half of the game's first chapter.

This particular enemy is easy to miss but the battle somewhat resembles the fight against the Wandering Wight. This is because of their similar looks and the fact that they share some moves.

Finding the Elder Jinchi

The first thing you need to know is how to actually encounter the Elder Jinchi boss. This particular enemy can be accessed by ringing three bells in Chapter 1. The first one can be rung after beating Guangzhi in the Forest of Wolves area, according to The Gamer.

The second bell can be rung after you successfully defeat Guangmao in the Bamboo Grove Area. The third and last bell can be rung after beating the Whiteclad Noble found near the Marsh of the White Mist Keeper's Shrine.

When you beat the third boss, you will find a small pathway to the left that leads up to the third bell. Here you will encounter a horde of wolf Yaoguai and ringing the third bell immediately transports you to the Ancient Guanyin Temple Secret Area.

The Elder Jinchi boss is located inside the temple grounds after walking up the stairs and opening the doors. Before heading into the boss arena, you can grab three chests on the right side of the Keeper's Shrine.

Fighting the Elder Jinchi

The most noticeable thing about this boss fight is that the Elder Jinchi is supported by several zombie-like minions. These will try to swarm and overwhelm you if they are given a chance. Screen Rant said.

It is recommended to defeat the minions to regain small amounts of health as you deal damage to the primary boss. This helps you survive longer throughout the battle. The Elder Jinchi has several powerful attacks that you need to keep an eye out for.

The First Strike Combo will have the boss charge at you while swinging its fists back and forth. Dodge it by paying attention in what direction a fist is swinging and go in the opposite way.

The Deadly Stomp attack is when the boss raises one foot up and stomps the ground. This causes a small shockwave on impact. You can dodge this attack by going to the opposite side of which foot was raised.

The third attack is Earthquake where Elder Jinchi will gather energy and then slam both hands into the ground.

This causes rocks to float in the air. The boss will then dig its fists even harder and cause a huge area of effect shockwave. You can simply run away from the range until the attack finishes.

Another attack is Energy Palm where the boss gathers energy in its right hand and thrusts its palm forward.

This creates a beam of energy that travels in a straight line. Dodge this by noticing the initial build-up and moving to the right quickly before the energy beam is released.

Rewards for Beating Elder Jinchi

Once you beat the Elder Jinchi boss, you will be transported back to an area near the Whiteclad Noble's boss arena following a short cutscene. You can interact with the corpse of a wolf hanging from a nearby tree.

If you talk to it, the body will disappear but you will receive a new armor as well as your first vessel, the Fireproof Mantle, according to Game Rant.
