The Blizzard Arcade Collection is adding two new games to its line-up, giving a total of five games in the set. That’s not all as Blizzard announced the introduction of some new features and quality of life updates in this collection.
The Blizzard Arcade Collection was released back in February as part of Blizzard’s 30th anniversary. Three arcade games were put into this collection and reproduced to be played on modern platforms. The games are The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne. The collection is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Two New Games
So what are these two new games ? According to the announcement, the first one is Lost Vikings 2, the sequel to The Lost Vikings. In this new game, the three heroes, Erik, Baleog, and Olaf, have been taken away from their homes and propelled into a new adventure. As they try to find their way back home, they need to finish challenging puzzles. Helping them are two new allies, the dragon Scorch and the werewolf Fang. The three also get to have new abilities.
The second game added to the collection is RPM Racing. This isn’t a sequel but a prequel of what would become Rock N Roll Racing. The basics features remain present, which are:
- Isometric perspective
- Different cars to choose from
- The ability to make modular upgrades to the player’s vehicle
- Career progress save functionality
- A lot of vehicular mayhem
New Features
For the new features, players can now learn more about classic titles. This is made possible by the Design Documents gallery in the Museum. Here, players can learn how the games evolved from initial concepts to finished products.
Those who play Rock N Roll Racing are sure to love the addition of the new Streamer mode. This not only lets players stream their gameplay but also adds MIDI versions of the songs.
The Blizzard Arcade Collection arrives as part of The Celebration Collection, which is offered in three tiers: Essentials Pack ($19.99), Heroic Pack ($39.99), and Epic Pack ($59.99).
