The first content update of the year for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is now live. The two highlights of this new update are the addition of a remastered classic map and a new weapon.
Multiplayer Map
The WMD multiplayer map was first introduced back in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. It featured various power positions spread out across the exterior and interior spaces. Like when it was first introduced, players can expect a lot of action, particularly in the central Production Facility.
When the match starts, the teams spawn on the left-hand and right-hand sides of the map. The left gives access to the Crane and Research power positions. Meanwhile, the right side allows access to Silo, Shipment, and Production. There are also top and bottom paths which can be accessed by both teams.
The map has a lot of objective modes that feature locations on the ground floor. Different objects offer cover when traveling high-risk paths.
New Weapon
The new update also brings with it a new weapon in the Vargo 52. This weapon is effective, especially in areas where versatility is key. Given the right suite of attachments, it can be a truly devastating assault rifle. It’s best described as:
- Full-auto assault rifle.
- Good damage at mid-range with a fast fire rate.
- Improved muzzle velocity and reliable handling for steady firing control.
If you want to get this new weapon, here’s how to unlock the base version:
- In Multiplayer:
- Using assault rifles, deal 1,000 damage in 15 different completed matches.
- In Zombies:
- Eliminate 750 enemies while using an assault rifle that has been Pack-a-Punched three times.
Those who want to drop in with this new weapon immediately can get the “Ferrofluid” Weapon Blueprint as part of the “Tracer Pack: Ferro Fury Reactive Mastercraft” bundle. This bundle also has:
- “Viscosideath” LMG Blueprint
- “Liquid Metal” SMG Blueprint
- “Bullet Magnet” Charm
- “Cranial Magnetism” animated Calling Card
- “Ferro-Charlie” Sticker
- “Spiked” Reticle
- “Fluid Manipulation” Gesture
By the way, while the blueprint can help you get the weapon, you still need to finish the in-game challenge to unlock the weapon’s base version.
