The Iron Trials ‘84 is one of the most popular game modes in Call of Duty: Warzone mainly because it is fun and challenging. That said, developer Raven Software has added changes that will make things even more interesting. In addition, the devs have made some weapon balance changes, so do read on to find out.
Iron Trials ‘84 Changes
The biggest highlight of the September 23 update is the addition of the Specialist Token in Buy Stations found in the Iron Trials.
For those who do not know, this special game mode starts with you having increased HP but the drawback is the lack of loadout drops, which means you have to fight your way to earn money to buy gear.
Skilled players will sometimes have more than enough to purchase anything offered in Buy Stations. So, the devs added the Specialist Token to reward them for having earned those resources.
The Specialist Token essentially gives you all of the perks in the game. This is an overpowered item, yes, but for you to get it, you must buy it for $50,000. This feat, as you can already tell, is not easy to achieve.
The devs have also disincentivized camping in this game mode. This is done by reducing the cash rewards gained from completing contracts. For instance, the Scavenger contract’s reward is decreased to $1,600, which is a stark difference from its original value of $2,500. They will continue to monitor player feedback regarding this matter and may implement changes when necessary.
Weapon Balance Changes
The Bullfrog is situated in the middle of the pack when it comes to effectiveness among sub-machine guns. This is the weapon that you normally choose if you want something versatile and reliable.
Having said that, its ADS (Aim Down Sights) speed is decreased by 9%, and your movement speed when wielding the weapon is reduced by 1%. This change would make the Bullfrog more in line with others in its class.
The Shotgun Bravo, according to the devs, has been used extensively in medium and long-range combat. This is not intended since the weapon is still technically a shotgun. So, to make it stay true, they reduced the maximum damage range by a few meters.
Here are the weapon balance changes in a nutshell:
- ADS Speed decreased by 9%
- Movement Speed decreased by 1%
- ADS Movement Speed decreased by 2%
- Maximum Damage Range decreased from 4.5 to 3.5 meters
- Second Damage Range decreased from 8.1 to 5.5 meters
- Third Damage Range decreased from 13.2 to 9.9 meters
Anyway, some assault rifle attachments have their recoil adjusted to improve the weapon’s effectiveness. The Krig 6’s 15” CMV Mil-Spec attachment, for example, has its horizontal and vertical recoil control increased to 9%.
