The Battle Royale genre doesn’t seem to be dying down. Call of Duty Warzone setting another milestone is proof of that. The free Battle Royale game has surpassed over 50 million players within a month. The same was previously achieved by Respawn's Battle Royale game, Apex Legends, which was also free-to-play.

Warzone has been a success since its launch in March. The game was able to secure six million players in only one day, then 15 million in four days and 30 million in ten days. And now, it has a massive player base of over 50 million players, all within 30 days. The success of the game can be directed toward the constant supply of post-launch content. Warzone has received multiple updates that added more modes in hopes to keep the player base engaged, and it seems to be working.

Warzone initially had two modes, Plunder and Battle Royale, with three-player squad support. The updates added Solo mode and four-player squad support. Multiple leaks are also suggesting that a Duos mode might be in works. New weapons that were added in Modern Warfare can also be used in Warzone.

Unfortunately, not all has been good news. Warzone also attracted tons of cheaters and hackers that are ruining the experience for everybody. Activision is trying to mitigate the damage by finding and banning these hackers. The company recently announced that they have perma-banned over 70,000 cheaters. Previously, that number was 50,000.

Activision can also take a more aggressive approach like Epic Games and Ubisoft. Both of these companies are going after the makers and distributors of hacks that are being used by cheaters. Legal action has been taken and hack distributing sites have been taken down. It seemed to work for these companies and the same result can be expected if Activision tries that as well.

So what do you think? Have you been playing Call of Duty Warzone? Did you encounter any hackers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
