Just over two months away, Marvel is stepping up its marketing game for Cap’s next big-screen premiere. Captain America: Civil War is bound to have some jaw-dropping action scenes with the amount of superheroes set to appear in the Captain America vs. Iron Man showdown. But as you know, The Avengers must choose sides. Thanks to Marvel’s Twitter, we now officially know who’s sticking with Steven Rogers and who’s rolling with Tony Stark. Here Captain America’s allies:
Hawkeye
Clint Baron
Hawkeye has no superpowers, but is an exceptional marksman, acrobat and is a perfect shot with a bow and arrow. He’s known for his quiver full of ‘trick arrows.’
Ant-Man
Scott Lang
Aside from being able to shrink in size, Ant-Man can telepathically communicate with insects. He is of course, technologically inclined and can become a particle so small he can enter ‘subatomic universes.’
Winter Soldier
Bucky Barnes
The Winter Soldier is nearly as skilled as Cap, his mentor and trainer. His holographic prosthetic arm has superhuman powers. It’s electromagnetic pulse can shut down electronics and discharge a variety of weapons.
Scarlet Witch
Wanda Maximoff
Put simply, Scarlet Witch can manipulate and control energy. But it’s more complicated than that, and hopefully Captain America: Civil War can explain how exactly Wanda’s powers work. Scarlet Witch can enter minds and feel people's feelings. Joe Russo recently talked to SuperHero Hype about the extent of Scarlet Witch’s powers in Civil War.
“Wanda can’t fly, she can use her power to push herself off, launch and then bring herself back down. But she has to stop herself and it’s not the most graceful version of flying. It’s just using her power to create energy to push herself up and bring herself down, but she’s still subject to gravity.” Scarlet Witch is the only Team Cap member with traditional supernatural powers and we may see a version of her thats still learning the extent of her abilities.
The Falcon
Sam Wilson
The Falcon will be the only member of Cap’s team that can truly fly, which hints that he will have to keep Iron Man busy in the air while the rest of Team Cap mans the ground. He is able to link his mind with other birds and even see their past memories, making it easy for him to track down and find enemies. He has been known to even control flocks of birds, summoning them in life-or-death emergencies.
Marvel’s Official Synopsis:
‘Captain America: Civil War’ finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
