As Cyberpunk 2077 is nearing its global release, some players have received an early copy of the game. In this situation, the chances of gameplay leaks are high. To prevent this, CD Projekt Red issued a statement warning players against streaming or uploading any Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage before the game release.
"We're getting closer and closer to launch and chances are some of you will get your hands on a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 before release day. However difficult this might be for us to achieve, our ambition is for gamers all across the world to have the same - spoiler-free - experience at the time the game releases" developers said.
"This is why we kindly ask you NOT TO stream/let's play, or release any similar content before December 9th, 12 PM CET / 3 AM PST. We will send MAX-TAC (you know, the guys who take down videos) after everyone who does. After that date, however, we would love if you'd streamed everything like there's no tomorrow."
If you aren't aware of MAX-TAC, these guys are a group of Cyber-SWAT police officers from the Cyberpunk 2077 Universe. This special police force will take down any aggressively behaving Cyberpsychos. Though it is said that many Cyber-SWAT officers exhibit Cyberpsychos tendencies.
These fictional characters will not barge into your home. If you stream any Cyberpunk 2077 content before the release, the developer implies that it would keep an eye on any notorious activity from partners. So, it's better to wait until the game is launched. Not only you're helping the developers, but you're also fighting spoilers. Based on the statement, you may record content early and upload it after the release.
For those still suspicious about the release date, it seems that after multiple delays, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally releasing on December 10. Yet, you'll have to wait to learn what CD Projekt Red is planning for the game in terms of DLCs and expansions .
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out on December 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
