Despite Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' immense popularity, Rockstar has yet to remake the game. However, it seems that fans can't wait until Rockstar reimagines the game and some creative fans took the matter in their own hands. The classic open-world game has now been remade in Unreal Engine 4 and it looks gorgeous.
The game was remade by three friends from Argentina. The group calls themselves ArcadiaSquad. The group recreated the full Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas map. However, don't get your hopes too high, as the remake is unplayable. ArcadiaSquad stated that it doesn't have any plans to create a playable remake of GTA San Andreas.
Speaking about Unreal Engine 4 remakes, you can find many such remakes for popular games like STALKER and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Some fans were also able to create a Sonic fan game using Unreal Engine 4 and the game can downloaded.
Some fans are also reported to be working on a Deus Ex remake using Unreal Engine 4, and if you're interested in knowing how the remake plays, you can easily download the playable demo.
Now that Unreal Engine 5 is on its way, we can only wait to see how creative fans get when reimagining some of the most nostalgic video games of all time. If you haven't seen the power of Unreal Engine 5, we highly recommend that you check out the real-time demo running on PlayStation 5.
