Chivalry 2: Patch 2.7.0 Fixes Horses and Improves FFA Backfill

Torn Banner Studios launched the Winter War Update for Chivalry 2 just recently. Also known as Patch 2.7.0, this update not only brings a ton of new content but also implements a plethora of fixes and improvements.

Horses in Chivalry 2 have been a bit problematic lately, so the company brought some much-needed fixes in Patch 2.7.0. Spike Traps and Bear Traps are normally used to damage horses, but there was a bug that prevented that from happening. Fortunately, this issue has now been addressed.

In addition, the problem where killing a horse with a lance guarantees that the rider gets hit in the process has been fixed. Furthermore, the company has reduced the total number of horses that can spawn in a match to eight, down from 12. This means that only four horses can spawn per team.

On top of that, Torn Banner Studios has improved the Free-for-All mode in that bots now only backfill until five players are in the server. Based on community feedback, the company found that people only wanted to fight against other players. Bots are only inserted so that the match can start, but they will immediately be removed once enough players have joined in.

CHANGES SINCE PUBLIC TEST
  • Fixed an issue with the catapult launching players standing close to the catapult
  • Applied +5 damage to all katar attacks (except the special)
  • Adjusted the quarterstaff tracers on special attack to make it more consistent
  • Fixed a spawning under map spawn in Assault on Thayic Stronghold
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 1: Moved defender spawns back 20 meters
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 2: Moved defender spawns forward 15 meters
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 2: Decreased defender spawn times from 15 seconds to 12 seconds
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 3: Increase banner health from 300 to 500
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 5: Attacker Bailey spawns have been moved back
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 5: Lowered Defender spawn time from 10 to 5 seconds
  • Assault on Thayic Stronghold Stage 5: Reduce Argon interaction time on the flags from 10 to 7 seconds
