Clash of Clan's recent April patch update officially marks the start of its Season Challenges. The mode works similar to the Season Pass or Battle Pass of games like Fortnite and Apex Legends.
The Season Challenges comes in two tiers. The first is the Silver tier, which is free. The Gold tier requires you to cough up $4.99. The Season Challenges last for a month, and begin on the first day of the month. They run up to the last day of each calendar month. The rewards can be collected retroactively, but getting the Gold Pass early in the month is preferred as players can benefit from the included boosters. Supercell has also revealed it has to plans to offer additional packaged passes like a three-month or six-month pass.
Both tiers give players rewards, with the Gold Pass offering more.
The Silver Pass offers 15 rewards that can be collected through the rest of the season, including the likes of gold, potions, elixir, dark elixir, and magic items. Gold Passes have a total of 30 rewards. Gold Pass holders also get a 20 percent boost on troop training, researching, and building speeds. The boost not only affects upgrades to be done, but also upgrades those that are already in progress.
Gold Pass holders also get the exclusive Hero Skin each month, and it will begin with the Barbarian King skin. Players can expect to get Garden Warden and Archer Queen skins in future seasons. According to Supercell, being able to offer new skins is the reason why the hero models have a different look.
A Season Bank will be introduced which gives extra rewards for challenges completed once the season ends. What the Season Bank does is that every time a player earns a reward, a certain amount is then placed to bank. The more active the player is, the higher the possible rewards at the end of the season. Silver tier players can get as much as 5 million gold and elixir as well as 50,000 dark elixirs from the bank. Gold pass holders can get up to 25 million gold and elixir with 250,000 dark elixirs.
