Clash Of Clans sneak peeks are coming soon, as Supercell has begun teasing a Winter Update of some kind. The hint arrives via an official tweet posted on Tuesday.
The full contents of the message can be read below, but it doesn’t tell us much about what to expect. “We’ll have some sneak peeks ready for you soon,” it reads. It then directs followers to a graphic that says “winter is coming.”
While initially it was believed that this tease might relate to something like a gem or spell boost, the mention of sneak peeks is significant. That term generally only applies to decent-sized patches, so we anticipate some sort of update beyond simple over-the-air balancing. The general community consensus is that sneak peeks could begin over the next few hours and days for a full release around Christmas. However, with fluctuating development conditions, that’s something that could easily change.
That being said, we don’t know much else about what’s to come. Recent rumors suggest Supercell might introduce additional troops from Clash Royale and a possible new game mode. It’s also reasonable to think some existing troops might get new levels too.
One thing we do hope, however, is that this year’s Winter Update is received a lot better than last year’s. The infamous Town Hall 11 update launched with frustrating features and a severely stunted loot collection system. In the months to follow, Supercell was obligated to release a series of patches to address those lingering issues. Especially since the introduction of Friendly Challenges, however, things have been pretty stable.
In the meantime, you might want to check out the latest sneak peeks for Clash Royale that introduce a bevy of new cards, chests and changes to the way Epic Cards are used.
Clash Of Clans is available now on Android and iOS.
