First announced back in October of 2018, the sequel to the hit 2015 horror Korean horror title The Coma: Cutting Class finally revealed a proper title – although the release date is still up in the air. Developer Devespresso Games and publisher Digerati finally announced The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters with a new trailer, and teased the game’s launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac. In addition, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters will have support for English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian subtitles. Check out the announcement trailer below.
The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is quite the departure from the original, as you now play as a female student named Mina Park instead of Youngho. It seems that the premise is largely unchanged though, but since the first one did atmospheric horror so well it would make sense to just improve on the mechanics that made the original so great.
The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is, like its predecessor, a survival horror-adventure game played in 2D. You play as Mina Park, a student at Sehwa High who awakens at night in her school only to realize that something is terribly wrong. Sehwa High is suddenly home to a twisted horror, and Mina finds herself on the run from a being that looks like a distorted and horrible form of her teacher. She then ventures out beyond her school and into the surrounding district, where she encounters other strange creatures and reluctant allies.
Ultimately, your goal in The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is to survive this nightmarish realm, solve puzzles, discover clues about the world, and fight to live another day. The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters features permanent damage, and you would do well to avoid situations in which Mina encounters monsters. The game features a deep crafting system to supplant this, and it’s deeply ingrained that you balance exploration with caution in order to better your chances of survival.
The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters’ release date is still unknown, although it is likely that we will find out more during PAX West 2019, as the game will be showcased at the event as part of Indie Megabooth’s lineup.
