Comic-Con HQ is the official streaming service of Comic-Con International and it has announced that as of June 30, the service will be available on Amazon devices. The service was previously only available for desktop and iOS/Android devices.
That Thursday will also be the premiere date of The Her Universe Fashion Show, the first Comic-Con HQ original series where cameras follow designers as they prepare for the 2016 Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con.
Here’s the official description of The Her Universe Fashion Show:
“Her Universe Fashion Show the series will follow the entire journey of the designers, from open auditions and the submission process, to the deliberations while picking the finalists, to the actual fashion show, and everything in-between. The strongest designs, featuring anime, comic book, sci-fi, and fantasy themed dresses, will win apparel lines at Hot Topic. Hosted and created by Ashley Eckstein.”
When Comic-Con HQ was first announced, the streaming service promised original series like The Her Universe Fashion Show to make the service a go-to spot all year, not just during Comic-Con season.
Con Man, from creators Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion, is a great example as the first season will be available on Comic-Con HQ June 30 with Season 2 coming later this year.
Seth Laderman, EVP and General Manager for Comic-Con HQ told iDigitalTimes the preliminary plan is for Her Universe to run until Comic-Con; when that’s finished, another show will begin. The goal is to distribute content on a regular basis year-round.
The beta for Comic-Con HQ was rolled out in May and will give unprecedented access and coverage of San Diego Comic-Con when the show begins in July.
