The cs_summit 7 matches between Fnatic and Cloud9 have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Vertigo was the first map of the series. Cloud9's Patrick "es3tag" Hansen clutched a 1v2 situation on Round 9 with the AK. es3tag killed the first opponent by holding a crazy pixel angle and then used a flashbang to bait the second opponent into pushing him. The bait strategy worked, and es3tag was able to win his gunfights.
Cloud9 got the first map with a 16-6 scoreline, with es3tag carrying the team. es3tag got 25 kills throughout the first map and even had a 1.75 rating, which is insane.
The second map was Inferno, and both teams were neck to neck in terms of score. While Cloud9 performed on the Terrorist side, they started losing rounds on the Counter-Terrorist side. This allowed Fnatic to take the second map with a 16-10 scoreline. The result was quite surprising as Cloud9 took Vertigo with ease against Fnatic.
The final map was Overpass, and it decided which team would move forward to the upper bracket of the tourney. Cloud9 started with a sick 5-1 lead, but Fnatic turned the tables around by playing super aggressively. After Fnatic gained intense momentum, Cloud9 could not stop the opposing team no matter what they did. Thus, Fnatic took the final map with a 16-9 scoreline. Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson and Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson carried the team with respective 58 and 57 kills throughout the series.
