With Earth no longer his interest, the villain Nitros Oxide has challenged Crash and the gang to one last battle. This time, Nitros Oxide is taking the home court advantage. Beginning on February 20 at 10:00 a.m. EDT, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is giving players the chance to be part of the Gasmoxia Grand Prix. This is going to be the final Grand Prix season, so it is time to give out the best.
Once Gasmoxia Grand Prix launches, it will mean a total of eight Grand Prix Seasons for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, along with 40 racetracks, 12 Battle Arenas and at least 50 characters.
So what’s in store with the final season? Like with any new season, there’s a new track for players to race through. This time it’s Drive-Thru Danger. Located above the Gasmoxia skyline, this toxic track puts racers in the middle of a fast food war. For quite some time, Nuclear Pizza and Toxic Burger, the two biggest conglomerates in Gasmoxia, have been fighting for planetary domination along with getting a CTR TV sponsorship. Prepare to take on what could be the most technical track in the game’s history, complete with twists, turns, and especially shortcuts.
In addition to a new track, players need to contend with a new character as well in Emperor Velo. Invited by Nitros Oxide to be part of the race, Emperor Velo is the self-proclaimed ruler of the galaxy and is more than ready to race to victory. He is ready to be unlocked in the Nitro Gauge.
There are also new time trials courtesy of Emperor Velo. That’s right, he’s not only taking part in the race, but also offering the Velo time challenge to show just who the best in the galaxy is. For this one, each course is going to have a Velo time that racers need to beat. Give it a shot and see if you have what it takes to beat the clock and be proclaimed the ruler of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Beating Emperor Velo’s time in the time trials and that of Nitros Oxide lets players unlock two extra Champion Decals for this season.
Gasmoxia being what it is, there are special engineered hovercrafts that are available and unique to the planet. Be ready to try out three new karts that can be unlocked and have that unique Gasmoxia vibe. These are the Void Manta, Velo Chopper, and Galactic Cruiser.
Meanwhile, over at the Pit Stop there are some new items that can help racers blend in better with the locals. There are space-adventure decals, as well as paint jobs, that are going to give anyone’s kart looking like a delivery kart. There are also some new skins for Spyro, Koala Kong, the Nitro Squad, and even King Chicken.
Even with all of these new things, it’s always best to remember that this is still a race and the Gasmoxia Grand Prix is offering everyone a final chance to earn the Champion Kart. Players who finish in the top 5% of the Grand Prix leaderboards are not only awarded the Champion Kart, but also get the Gasmoxia signature decal.
