Curren$y revisits a sound fans are all too familiar with on his newest release, The Owners Manual. Just a month after Canal St. Confidential, the Jet Lifer is back again, this time teaming up with Cool & Dre on the production end. The Owners Manual is a no frills, car tunes mixtape. Spitta is straight up kickin' it, riding ‘round in the rain with a raw in hand testing out his new wheels on a gloomy day.

Laced over low key smoker’s instrumentals, Curren$y gives fans what he does best. Per usual, Spitta’s lyrics revolve around cars, life at the shop in NOLA, and smokin’ with bad bitches.

The New Orleans rapper announced The Owners Manual just yesterday and immediately started a Datpiff countdown. From the looks of it, Curren$y is celebrating his latest big purchase, the Rolls-Royce Wraith.

“Let’s all get high till our eyes turn to dolla signs, la da da la da da da,” Curren$y lackadaisically raps in the intro he cleverly calls “Table of Contents.”

Curren$y keeps it slow, calm and cool in “The Wraith.”

“Sweat suit / 300,000 thousand dollar coup / bitch guess who /same one who bring them low riders through”

Spitta speeds it up a bit with “Rain Stunts” touching on his dip into the mainstream with Canal St. Confidential.

“Still stuntin’ in the rain / Money came but I stayed the same / Wasn’t me it was you who changed”

Stepping up his lyricism in “Came up,” Curren$y raps over a subtle yet intricate beat.

“Shorty came up / OG smokin’ OG by the OZ nigga thats us”

An Instagram video of Curren$y jammin’ to “Forecast” says it all:

Spitta makes a perfect exit with the unexpected sound behind “Mallory Knox.” All tracks lead up to this song, which is the most memorable on the tape.

“Catchin stunts on the bitch no camera tricks / she couldn’t handle it Ferrari Lamborghini shit”

The Alchemist and Curren$y are teaming up for another project, The Carrollton Heist. No word on when to expect that collaboration to come to fruition. The same goes for #2009, a long rumored mixtape with Wiz Khalifa based of their collab on How Fly in 2009.
