After a not-so-impressive release, CD Projekt Red announced the rollout of free DLCs for Cyberpunk 2077, starting in early 2021. Unlike the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, fans did not get to know the future plans for Cyberpunk 2077 before the game's release. Following the third delay, CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński stated that developers would first give players the game, which they have been waiting for. The post-launch content would come out after the game's reveal. However, it seems that CDPR will begin launching free DLCs next year.
Given the poor launch of Cyberpunk 2077, we aren't sure that players would welcome a DLC with passion. Most players would expect CDPR to first fix the game and then focus on releasing DLCs. Even so, it will be interesting to see what the Polish developer has planned for the futuristic open-world RPG.
Although players know that Cyberpunk 2077 is bound to get free and paid DLCs, there's very little that one can guess how these DLCs will turn out. But fans are speculating that the free DLCs would be similar to what we received in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Some of which were alternative outfits, weapons, and quests. The paid DLCs for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt included a lengthy Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. CDPR could follow the same thing for Cyberpunk 2077 as well, since the developer confirmed that the game will get free DLCs like the Witcher 3.
For now, players would want CDPR to fix a plethora of glitches that are plaguing the game and optimize it across all systems.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Google Stadia.
