CD Project Red confirmed on Twitter that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature free DLC after the game's launch. The developer announced the news while answering a fan question on Twitter. The fan asked whether or not Cyberpunk would feature post-launch free DLC like The Witcher 3, to which the developer replied with GIF that said, "Ohhh yeaahh!"
Additionally, CD Projekt Red also acknowledged fan concerns regarding the small size of subtitles in Cyberpunk 2077. The developer stated that players will be able to adjust the subtitle size to their liking. Moreover, players can also change subtitle colors. While fans appreciate these accessibility features, the other thing that has gotten them even more excited is the announcement of free DLC. However, CD Projekt Red hasn't stated what this DLC is going to be. That said, it will likely include cosmetic items, but could feature boosters, additional story missions, or even expansions.
Cyberpunk 2077 has also been hosting a series of Night City Wire events, showcasing a variety of gameplay options, open-world elements, and the progression of character arcs from their Lifepath stories to weapons and combat. Senior Quest Designer Miles Tost also stated that Cyberpunk 2077 will lean heavily into RPG elements rather than shooting. Tost also said that the game is an RPG first and shooter second.
Cyberpunk 2077 will allow players to experience the dystopian open-world area known as Night City. Night City consists of six unique and distinct regions. Players will assume the role of a customizable mercenary named V. V will continue to be developed according to the player's playstyle. There are a bunch of known skillsets that players can use, including hacking and machinery, as well as proficiency with a plethora of different weapons. Players can also develop V's close combat proficiency.
V's stats are categorized into five categories, which include Body, Cool, Intelligence, Reflexes, and Technical. Developing a specific category will develop V in a distinct way, turning V into a NetRunner, Techie, or a Solo fighter.
Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on November 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also being developed for Stadia, Xbox Series X and PS5.
